Dual Line Lubrication System
Dual line lubrication systems have two independent main feed lines connected to and controlled by a reversing valve. These two main lines alternately supply lubricant to distributors during a lubrication cycle. Dual line distributors provide a fixed amount of lubricant to the lube points. The system consists of a lubricator, a filter, a reversing valve, a dual line distributor, a pressure switch, a controller, a pipeline, and accessories. The system lubricant ranges from NLGI 000# up to 3#. Operating pressures range from 1 up to 40MPa. Delivery ranges from 0 to 15ml/cycle. Up to 1000 lubricant points at a distance of 150 meters can be lubricated.
Two Types Of Dual Line Lubrication Systems – Operating Principles
Type 1: When the lubricator provides oil to a main line, the main line pressure is raised. One side of the dual line distributor discharges oil to the lube points. When the pressure difference between the two main lines reaches up to 5Mpa, the pressure switch begins to work, reversing the valve change over. The first main line is then depressurized. When the lubricator provides oil to the second main line, pressure is raised. Oil is then dispensed through the other side of the distributors. When the pressure difference between the two main lines is up to 5Mpa, the pressure switch begins to work, the reverse valve changes over. The second main line is depressurized and the lubrication cycle is completed.
Type 2: When the lubricator provides oil to a main line, the main line pressure is raised. One side of the dual line distributor discharges oil to the lube points. When the pressure difference between the two main lines reaches up to 10.3Mpa (factory pre-set), the pressure switch begins to work, reversing the valve change over. The first main line is then depressurized. When the lubricator provides oil to the second main line, pressure is raised. Oil is then dispensed through the other side of the distributors. When the pressure difference between the two main lines is up to 10.3Mpa (factory pre-set), the pressure switch begins to work, the reverse valve changes over. The second main line is depressurized and the lubrication cycle is completed.
Advantages: Metering can be adjusted to meet the requirements of individual lubrication points by selection of the appropriate distributor size, by varying the metering setting, or by varying the interval. Easily monitored – The system can at any time be extended by connection of additional distributors, or reduced by shutting down distributors or outlets – The system still works despite a secondary line blockage.
Applications: The lubrication system is widely used in steel, metallurgy, mining, harbor machinery cranes, power machines, and heavy duty machinery.
